培养目标：

— 全美酒店专业排名第二，也有人认为Cornell才应该排名第一。

少有的综排和专排都高的学校。如果非要给其排名次于UNLV找个原因，恐怕就是它太偏向于学术了。

The MMH Character Essay (400 word limit)：Choose one topic below to write about:

1. Describe a failure that you have experienced. What role did you play, and what did you learn about yourself? How did this experience help you develop a more refined definition of failure?

2. What does diversity mean to you and how will you contribute to the diversity of our community at SHA?

关于学校的一些总结

1.没有绝对的保底院校，相对容易的学校有：

Delaware, Temple, USC-Columbia, Fairleigh 

Dickinson U, Kent State U

—2.开设酒店管理专业的学校太少了，绝对的小众专业

—3.大多数优秀的酒店管理院校都是公立大学

—4.很多优秀的偏实践的酒店管理院校集中在旅游热点区域，如拉斯维加斯和佛罗里达州

—5.选校时，硬件分数不再是唯一参考，甚至也不算是重要的参考，是否有高质量的工作经历所占比重很大

—6.由于酒店管理专业是就业导向性很强的专业，因此选校时要侧重关注学校是否有相关就业指导中心及服务，或合作酒店，这样会对毕业后就业非常有帮助

文书

总体上讲，酒店管理专业的文书比较重要

— CV：将工作或实习经历放在CV最醒目的位置，重点描述。工作地点，单位，日期，类型（FT or PT），岗位，职责，贡献

— RL：领导力，管理能力，组织协调能力，沟通能力，解决实际问题的能力，时间管理能力（工作推荐信）+学习能力和态度，

— PS and Essay：特点为字数要求少，一般500 words上下。内容突出点同工作推荐信的推荐点，另外补充为什么读研，职业规划，读研对实现职业规划的实际作用。个别学校有单独essay题目，如diversity statement

广泛接纳转专业申请者，常见原专业除旅游酒店管理本专业外，很多英语专业，国贸专业，人力资源专业，经管类专业的申请者

GPA要求不高，一般在3.0以上即可满足大部分学校要求，并非越高越好，除针对学术型项目如Cornell和Purdue

标准化考试成绩GMAT和TOEFL，也是并非越高越好，一般达到630和90即可。前5的大学尽量托福考到100+

非常看重工作经验（或实习经历），无论学校是否强硬要求工作经验，国际知名酒店工作（或实习）的经历会对申请起到决定性作用

非常强调文书质量。因酒店管理专业不看重硬件分数，相比软性背景更加重要，而软性背景的展示载体为文书。因此需要非常重视文书的写作。
